Live Like David Geffen (Or At Least Sit On His Beach)
Defamer points us to this post by Totally Unauthorized Blog about what it’s like to actually use the beach in front of David Geffen’s house. In a word, nice!
IN 1983 Geffen promised to allow access to the beach in front of his house in exchange for zoning waivers. After many battles with the state of California and the group Access for All, he finally lived up to that promise three months ago. We posted about Geffen’s footdragging in May.
Expect to hear stories of mysterious “Carbon Beach locals” slashing tires and breaking car windows of people daring to take advantage of the new access. It’ll be blamed on surfers, but the offenders will look surprisingly like Dreamworks executives.
