As Expected, Lawsuit Filed in Grand Theft Auto Case; As Expected, It’s Stupid

Florence Cohen, 85, of New York, filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan claiming that the makers of “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas,” Rockstar Games, and its parent company, New York-based Take Two Interactive Software Inc., engaged in false, misleading and deceptive practices. Cohen bought the video game for her 14-year-old grandson even though it was rated “M” for mature, for players 17 and older. According to the suit, she directed that it be taken away from her grandson.

It should be noted that the only way her grandson would be able to see anything more than what is advertised on the box would be if he downloaded and installed the hacking code off of the Internet. Believe me, if her grandson has an Internet connection to do this, he’s able to see much, much worse than a few frames of jerky cartoon characters simulating sex.

Stupid is as Stupid Sues.

Seems to me the rating system works. Why is this a controversy, much less a lawsuit.

    Tort reform, please.
