How About A Resolution Resolving To Approve No More Stupid Resolutions?

San Francisco’s Supervisors don’t want the battleship Iowa and an accompanying museum of the Second World War and the Cold War in their city … they have more important issues to deal with:

The Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted a resolution Tuesday urging the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to accept an application by the San Francisco Women’s Motorcycle Contingent to trademark the name “Dykes on Bikes.”

The group has been at the head of the San Francisco Pride Parade every year for nearly three decades, and has spent two years trying to trademark the name by which it is known. But the patent office has refused, saying the word “dyke” is offensive.

San Francisco … the city with its own foreign policy, historical outlook, and now, its own interpretation of federal intellectual property law!
