Los Alamos Whistle-Blower Blows It On Lap Dance

Police, Auditor Differ on Beating

We at Independent Sources felt bad when we read that Tommy Hook, a potential congressional witness the in the Los Alamos National Laboratory (New Mexico) scandal, had been severely beaten. Evidently Hook, a whistle-blower at the lab, had been lured to the parking lot of a bar by the promise of learning more about the Los Alamos fraud. When we read that he had reported that his attackers told him that he “needed to start keeping his mouth shut” just before they broke his jaw and other bones, we thought “wow, those Los Alamos scientists and researchers play pretty rough.”

It turns out that this was not the end of the story. If there is one thing a whistle blower should know, it’s that lies always have cracks and with enough time and investigation the truth ultimately comes out. In this case, the “cracks” in his story are huge.

Based on the latest information this is what Independent Sources believes actually happened.

  • Mr. Hook wanted to go to a topless bar so he told his wife that he had gotten a tip from someone who wanted to meet him late at night. (Pretty darn good excuse).
  • He drives to a topless bar called “Cheeks” to meet the tipster, who’s probably named Tiffany or Amber.
  • He goes in and gets one or more “table dances”
  • He consumes six beers.
  • He’s having a pretty darn good time (and who wouldn’t?)
  • On the way out he gets into an altercation and gets his ass kicked.
  • He thinks, ‘how am I going to explain getting my ass kicked at Cheeks to my wife’?
  • He realizes that if the beating was related to the Los Alamos case, he’d be seen as a righteous victim by his wife, the media and all.

Granted, we are not privvy to all of the details and the above has some speculation on our part. However, thus far the investigating authorities are calling it a bar brawl not related to his whistle-blowing status.

“Facts, evidence and information obtained … led investigators to believe that the altercation involving Mr. Hook is an isolated incident and is in no way related to Mr. Hook’s whistle-blower status at the Los Alamos National Laboratories,” Santa Fe Deputy Police Chief Eric Johnson said in a statement.

But Hook stands by his story that he was lured to the bar and beaten up to keep silent. This incident could affect his standing in the Los Alamos case. You can almost imagine anyone wanting to discredit his testimony saying “was this before or after the lapdance?”

Next step is obtaining the phone records to check Hook’s story or giving Hook a polygraph. We’d like to be a fly on the wall to see Hook’s reacton on the polygraph when he’s asked: “Did you get a lap dance at Cheeks”? I’ll bet the needle will be hopping.

He’s busted. That’s exactly the kind of beating you get when you try to go too far with a dancer. My guess is that he kept asking one of them if she would like to “blow his whistle”.
