Independent Sources’ crack research staff has discovered that just as the internet domains antonio2009.com and villaraigosa2009.com remained unclaimed as late as last Friday — when we bought them — the 2013 equivalents are still available to the first interested party with about $11 left on their Visa limit.

We thought Howard Dean advisor Joe Trippi showed that you could use this web-thingy to take even the least likely candidate on a rocket ride to … well, self destruction, but that’s not the internet’s fault (scary fact: Dean2008.com and Dean2012.com are taken).

In fact, aside from our 2009 domains, none of the other Villaraigosa possibilities — 2006 (governor), 2010 and 2012 (Senate), and so on — have been bought.

Is it possible Villaraigosa plans to leave politics after one term? Could our 2009 domains be worthless after all? Does this mean we have to keep our day jobs?

Let’s hope it’s just sloppy staff work.
