Dean Wastes No Time in Charting Dems Course to Ruin
Howard Dean is certainly trying to make the most of his Democratic National Committee Chairmanship. His latest salvo is that he would make Terri Schiavo, the brain-dead Florida woman, a cause celeb against the Republicans in 2006 and 2008. Evidently oblivious to the actual outcome of the last two presidential elections, Dean seems to believe that by insulting voters in red states and telling them how stupidly pious they are that they will somehow be convinced to switch sides. Someone should also tell Dean that Democrats were among those voting for the same measures that he is criticizing.
Another Deanism, despite talking about it to a group of 200 people with media present, Dean is maintaining in a Quixote-like manner that he’s not going to talk about Schiavo now as it might distract away from the Dem’s message that Social Security is fine and doesn’t need all that nasty privatization.
The Repubs gotta love this guy.

The photo of Dr. Dean is frightening. When an M.D. comes at you with his index finger raised like that, he better be wearing a glove and it better be lubed.

As Jerry Brown says:
Howard Dean fired up the troops tonight. He spoke about moral values and talking in a language that ordinary Americans could understand. The audience went wild.
There is something strange, though, in this rush to “morals.”

I agree with Jerry but would paraphrase it slightly to “There is something strange, though, in Howard Dean, period.”
