Race losing importance to college freshmen; views “troubling”
Our earlier post about progress in eliminating racial economic disparities the U.S. received a boost today when the Los Angeles Times reported that the highest percentage of college freshmen in 28 years thought that racial discrimination was not a problem in the U.S., and the fewest — under 30% — thought that “helping to promote racial understanding” was an essential or very important personal goal. The reaction to the good news? Quotes from academics include …
